Background

   In 1999 the copper wire rod production was put into operation on the territory of the biggest Europe cop-per refiner JSC "Uralelectromed". Thus the company spe-cialized on cathode copper production has made a progress in expansion of the range of the produced goods.
   JSC "Uralelectromed" has its own developed raw materials source that influences to capacity utilization and provides the stable conditions for company operation. The raw material treatment is 300,000 tpy.
   JSC "Uralelectromed" is one of the main founders of Joint Venture "Katur-lnvest" which included the copper wire rod production in October of 1999. The company design production capacity of copper wire rod is 235,000 tpy.
   The strong argument for the integration of the technologically and economically connected enterprises was introduction of "Sibcable" and "Emalprovod" located in Tomsk to the "Ural Mining Metallurgical Company".
